Double IPAs can be tricky beers to brew. Too hoppy and the bitterness slips quickly off balance and blows out the palate. Too malty and they become cloying and hard to drink. Six Rights sits “right” in the groove. It boasts big hop flavors of tropical fruit and ripe melon, but it’s held in check by just enough malt body to accentuate the hops rather than overwhelm them.

June 8th, 2016 - I'm sure there's a lofty reference to the name here, but I'm not stopping by Wikipedia to find out. Instead, I proceed directly to the autumn orange-brown brew, with a spicy and sweet aroma. The flavor exhibits some of the same aromas as the flavor, namely pineapple, pepper and some orange. The body is robust too, floating the double IPA flavor and intensity without making it heavy and churlish.

I really like this IPA - it has a great taste, isn't heavy, has a beautiful color and creamy texture. The fragrance is just slightly citrus.

Appearance -The beer pours a beautiful golden orange color with a small but thick white head. The head has great retention slowly fading over time to leave a good level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The smell is big of citrus and tropical fruit as well as some bread and cracker. Along with these aromas comes some grassy and herbal notes, which overall produse a rather delisious and enticing aroma.
Taste - I was actually a bit disappointed with the taste overall, as the look, nose, and Sierra Nevada reputation gave me high hopes. The taste begins with a stronger bready taste that has a decent sum of orange and tropical fruit flavors upfront. There is a bit of dank herbal and grass upfront, which grow stronger as the taste advances. For an IPA of its stature, the malt is never really well balanced by the hop, but instead seems a little too big. In the end, the stronger malt flavor is dominant, but is somewhat complemented by a decent citrus and dank hop.
Mouthfeel - The body of the brew was rather chewy with a moderate carbonation. Overall the feel was decent for the rather big malt flavor as well as the mix of hop.
Overall- It is a decent brew, but a bit too malty for an IPA that is advertised as being " pinpoint balanced " as the bottle described. It was worth a try, but honestly I will stick with Hop Hunter, Torpedo, Hoptinum, or just staight up sierra pale over this. Those brews have a slightly more solid and balanced taste/profile.

From the High Altitude Series four pack.
Pours a clear amber with a big frothy head, decent lacing.
Malty backbone, nice citrus and tropical flavors.
Overall I thought this was a very nice beer.
However, because of the packaging, I was expecting some better than Torpedo. (I love Torpedo) This one just didn't deliver.
