12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled on 8/2/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of tangerine, lemon, melon, peach, pear, grapefruit, apple, citrus peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, lemon, melon, peach, pear, grapefruit, apple, citrus peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, lemon, melon, peach, pear, grapefruit, apple, citrus rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky/resinous/grainy, and lightly creamy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.2%. Overall this is a very nice wheat IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. Pretty unique hop flavors with more fruity/earthy/spicy notes over the citrus. A very enjoyable offering.

First had poured from 12-oz. bottle into Weizen glass. The Americanized wheat ale is becoming a favorite style. This one, however, has a bit more bite than typical, and is rightly designated as a "Hoppy Wheat (American) IPA."

This is an excellent wheat IPA, really hits on that dank/tropical combo that everyone loves these days. Lightly hazy, slightly thicker body than normal thx to all that wheat. If the nose is sweet tropical dankness, the palate is more fruity pungency with a good bitterness. I dunno why this isn't scored higher (probably because it's, gasp, bitter! God forbid an IPA be bitter!) - it's really an excellent brew.

Poured from a chilled 12 oz. bottle into a tulip glass.
Looks: Golden dark yellow, 1 finger of head, virtually no aeration.
Aroma: Orange, mango, ripe fruit.
Taste: Straight ahead hops, a bit of malt and barley in the background, some fading pine. No complexity in the hops, but very tasty.
Mouthfeel: Lingering hoppy bitterness.

Good one, but nothing to distinguish from other IPAs (although this one is wheat based).

Hoppy wheat pours a pale golden color with a tiny lacing head. Nice hoppy and floral aroma. Taste is sweet and creamy then your hit with earth and alot of bitter. Good feel. Overall it's a bit odd and the flavors are off.

Look: It pours golden with an off white head that has tinges of orange in it. It has quite a bit of lacing.

Smell: It has aromas of wheat, apricot, citrus, and some grapefruit.

Taste: It has a strong grapefruit and stone fruit flavor that is a cross between peach and apricot. There are also wheat flavors, grain, and citrus.

Feel: It has a moderate body and it is moderately-high on the bitterness.

Overall, this is an interesting combination of wheat and bittering hops that is balanced towards the hops.

A: A bright yellow in color with a light haze. White head on top.

S: Hoppy with orange peel, and a touch of grapefruit. Perhaps a smidgen of tropical flavor in there as well.

T: Bright citrus flavor, with orange zest, lemon balm, and grapefruit peel.

M: Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, and a touch of a bitter cling.

O: Overall a pretty enjoyable brew.

Poured into a pint glass. A slightly hazy golden straw color with a fairly thin bight white head. Decent citrus on the nose with dough and white bread. Bitter up front. A mix of wheat, orange, grapefruit, bread, and some earthy notes. Somewhat thin on the mouthfeel. Nice, but not as enjoyable as a PA/IPA or a less hoppy wheat beer.

Part of a 12er that has 4 different kinds of SN brew let's give it a whirl. Popping the top I get a zesty bite of hops that fills the nose. Pours to a super head in a pilsner glass, pale straw and bright white head. On the taste this brew is citrus-like on the initial taste followed by a sweeter malt but still biting to the end. Wheat? What Wheat? I don't see any wheat, except for the little bit cleaner malt backbone. I used to always say " Don't wheat me bro" but this is good none the less as always from SNB.

A: Pours a chill-hazed golden orange color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a decent cap that leaves some good lacing

S: Some citrus and light pine hoppiness up front along with some wheat and bready malt notes

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with some bitter citrusy notes with hints of pine and goes into the wheat and some fruity undertones. Light breadiness as well. Finishes with lingering bitterness and citrus

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A nice wheaty IPA that has some nice citrus and bitter tones but could use a little more depth in the flavor department. Drinks more like 5%, so that is good. Nice for the push into fall

It was a clear golden color with a small, white head and lots of carbonation. It smelled of wheat, clove and pine.
It tasted quite sweet wheat, piney bitter hops and a little citrus kick. It was crisp and very sharp.

Pours a pale yellow with a white head.

Smells of citrus, tropical fruit, and a nice floral bouquet.

Tropical fruit - mango, star fruit - a big citrus punch - grapefruit, orange. Finishes with a dry malt biscuit taste.

Pours not quite clear gold color with a nice frothy head. Aroma is somewhat muted. Taste is slightly malty with a hop citrus chaser. Mouthfeel is smooth. Left a unique peppery aftertaste. Another really solid offering from Sierra Nevada, cheers!

Pours hazy golden color with minimal head. Typical of style,

Slight hop presence in the nose, with some floral funkiness and almost sourness in the aftersmell.

Taste takes the backseat to the mouthfeel in this one. Some slight hop bitterness with some general sweet wheatiness. No single of hefe-yeast. Good mouthfeel.

Pours a golden, slightly hazy, color with a very thin white head that dissipated quickly. Up front smells great, heavy on the hops with tropical fruits and pine, faintly of wheat. Taste certainly favors that of an IPA, pine and some citrus up front and heavy, a little malt backbone, and a hint of wheat towards the end of the beer. As a wheat beer, eh, not so much but it's a fairly decent IPA. Forgetting categories it's a solid beer.

Dense white leather head with satin lace lingering
Slight opaque quality to the golden body
Malt begins the assault
Followed by wheaty must
Hops circle the palate
Very well executed. I dunno why they call it a hoppy IPA, hoppy is implied by the Sierra Nevada label.

*Very* slightly hazy yellow body, few bubbles rise, and lazily at that. Pure white soapy dense head leaves lines and dots of sticky lace. Nose gives plenty of hops in plenty of categories; spice, tropical, bitter fruits, pine, and a bit of earth. Mild wheat provides a backdrop. Taste is moderately bitter and bone dry, favoring the piney hops but still offering orange, apricot, spice, a touch of yeast funk, and mild wheat body. Medium body with some bite from the coarse carbonation and accentuated by the bitterness.
Ignoring the redundant and confusing description on the bottle... this was a great beer. Did I expect anything less from Sierra Nevada? No. Had more pine than I enjoy, but like any of their beers, the range of flavors, balance, intensity, and stylistic appropriateness was spot on. I'm spoiled.

Excellent hop profile, not wheaty to me. A mixture of pine resin and the fruity touch puts this one in the must have file folder. Finish is very crisp great for a warm autumn evening.
PS. SN should consider these type random beers they come up with as they almost always are crafted perfectly.

12oz bottle into a pint glass, courtesy of Joanne, thanks! Bottled 6/2/16, so about 4 months old.

pale yellow body, pretty clear for a wheat ale. small white head with good lacing.

Clean smelling, faintly hops, strong malt background. slightly peppery.

Taste pretty much confirms the nose. pepperiness comes through strong in the finish.

Overall, a very drinkable refreshing beer. not sure how i missed this one, since i normally grab every SN 12oz i can find. Good beer.

Forgot that I'd saved one of these from the Fall Pack for a rating. Bottled on 7/22/16, so I'm not that concerned with freshness.

Hoppy *Wheat* American IPA. Hmm. Rated as an IPA, not an American Pale Wheat Ale.

L -- Pours a clear golden with a strong white head that holds up well.

S -- Pineapple citrus notes with light biscuit aroma back.

T -- Juicy citrus character up front - emphasis on pineapple - spicy, bitter hops back and through the finish. Good biscuit malt backbone throughout as a supporting role. Citrus character lingers through the aftertaste. Some mild graininess from wheat in the aftertaste.

F -- Mouthfeel is smooth up front to crisp in the finish. Body is light medium.

O -- A very refreshing, solid IPA when you're not looking for an experiment. You can always trust SN to brew a well-crafted beer.

Very balanced, not overly hopped IPA. Cannot really tell it is a wheat beer as the hops easily overpower the light wheat malt. I suppose the wheat helps with hangovers. Slightly above average, easy drinking citrus IPA.

Picked this up at the local House of 1,000 beers. Pours as expected a hazy bright yellow orange color with a good 1/2 inch of froth. Smell is rather nice all wheat and hops. Taste is good surprisingly more bitter than expected. Body is a bit medium so its not the easiest to pound.

Overall I would rather go with one of their Torpedo IPA's rather this. Good beer though

Bottle from Hannaford.
Slightly hazy light golden color with a smallish bubbly white head. Spicy, earthy, citrus with bits of sweet bready maltiness to counter. Leans heavily towards the hop side with a lingering resinous bitterness in the finish. Pretty tasty beer.
