Another beer consumed at the source. Was amazed at the difference when hitting up Torpedo Room and Chico the very same day, how different some of the tap choices were.
Again, this pours a light amber and orange seeming to convey a relatively maltier beer for an ipa. Leans forward aroma wise like Celebration, there is a good amount of pine, Chinook like hoppiness with that old toffee presence.
Taste is a run of the mill 50-60 ibu bitterness draped in old school flavors (grapefruit) moreso than experimental ones. Mild crystal malt contingent. Commercial tug job claims about notes of coconut and two different hops used here don't really play out. Cedar? Sure, it does have that woody presence (albeit not really cedar, compared to say, El Cedro from Jester King) but its largely a plain neutral one.
I did think the mouth feel was good, made 7.4% go down with ease. Well carbonated. I dunno, was it good? Yes. Was it a "new" hop or beer experience from Sierra Nevada? Didn't taste like it. More of the same, which is cool, ol' reliable standby is still good.

Came in a stemmed glass a clear deep burnt orange with a sticky-soap-like white head atop.Grassy and floral hops stand out most in the nose, some sweet biscuit comes thru as well.Fruity and grassy upfront on the palate with a caramel doughy malt base underneath. Not overly complex or earth shattering but it's just solid and a bit old school...kinda like Sierra Nevada.

From a growler, pours a deep coppery amber. A finger or more of off-white head leaves decent lacing. Smell is more toward the earthy side than fruity. Kind of smells like dirt, but in a good way. Some of the malt comes through as well. Taste is similar--earthy hops backed by some caramel-tasting malts. Pleasing bitterness.
Feel is on the medium side, but with a smooth slickness that I don't love. Overall, a tasty IPA in the same vein as Celebration.
