Black as night with no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of brown around half of the rim and a quarter of the top. The aroma is of light rum and dark roasted barley. I’m tasting light rum, plum, raisin, fig, and dark roasted barley. The mouth is thick, chewy and boozy.

750ml into snifter.
A: Thick black with dark brown highlights. Short lived cap of dark brown foam that faded into lasting collar.
S: Rich, sweet and boozy notes of molasses, faint vanilla, faint chocolate.
T: Rum and molasses dominate over notes of vanilla and slight butterscotch. I get chocolate in the aftertaste, lingering caramel, and roasted marshmallow.
M: Creamy, super rich, and decant mouthfeel. Super velvety and smooth carbonation. Lighter mouthfeel for being so thick and rich. Amazing.
O: Almost no trace of booze, kiss of warmth but no harshness. Drinks very well; buttery and smooth, with a nice complexity. An exceptional beer.

Had no doubt I would like this and I did. Didn't get a lot of the Rum that I thought I would but still a delicious beer. I hope if they keep making these variants of Narwhal we can but them separately rather then in the three bottle format. Cheers
