12 oz can, canned 9/5/18. Pours hazy orange gold with a big bubbly white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is subdued - bready biscuit malt with some resiny hops.
The flavor is sweet bready malt and some fruit with some piney resiny hop bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a decent DIPA. I haven't been a big fan of the single hop 12 pack...everything is just OK.

I think this is the last review from that Winter 2018 variety pack with different single hop beers.
Pours light copper in color, 3/4" white head. Good clarity, customary with Sierra Nevada. The Mosaic hop didn't pop here like it does in some of the more expensive beers out there, perhaps they chose a more financially responsible use of Mosaic dry hopping. Wasn't absent, just was smaller than the average one I come across these days. Brought the blueberry and pine note in a lighter way.
Taste brought on a decent malt backbone that is heavier (also a Sierra Nevada signal) than your average one these days too, but it wasn't like a massive caramel bomb or anything, felt lighter than SNPA's, but also woodier. As a Mosaic beer, this just doesn't measure up. Just don't think they used much, which is weird to say, but things change. It did hide the alcohol pretty well. I guess I can understand why they never gave this a release on its own, Mosaic is just in too much high demand relative to supply and therefore cost.

Welcome back to my New Sierra Nevada (& Maybe Some Others) Beer Sunday (Week 727)! My mother owns a house in Chico, I scored these at the Friendly Greek Bottle Shop (FGBS) & now, I am anxious to delve deeply into them!
From the CAN: "Family Owned, Operated & Argued Over". Ha!
I will be up front & say that Mosaic is NOT one of my faves, but I CAN always get into a DIPA + I like to keep an open mind. I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. I have been at this for a while & I do NOT feel like cleaning up a mess. It worked to my advantage as I wound up with two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with great retention that left a load of sticky lacing in its wake. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose smelled like a tropical fruit forest in the middle of a tropical jungle. That's great if it's a Dole Tropical Fruit Cup at lunchtime, but not so much when your hop jones is kicking in & you need a fix … like, right now, man! 8=( Mouthfeel was big & full, like heavy syrup in which that fruit cup was packed. Fair dinkum. The taste was all tropical fruit, ranging from pineapple to guava to papaya to passion fruit to mango & back to pineapple! 8=O Well, there's your Mosaic. FWIW. The real problem here was its inherent lack of bitterness, which is a hallmark of the style. You CAN argue that point, but I'm standing my ground. I was simply unfulfilled. 8=( OTOH, its ABV was kicking in nicely, moving me that much closer to a nap. Finish was semi-sweet, kind of like CANdied fruit or dried fruit, but I wasn't feeling it. I really need some hops, man!

Not getting the subtle blueberry Mosaic is known for - just vague tropical fruit character. Pale malts, floral notes...it's a bit hum-ho. ABV is well disguised.

Appearance: Hazy amber. Big sudsy off-white head and minimal lace.
Aroma: Citrus and tropical hops. Quite appealing.
Taste: Fruity citrus hops, heavy on flavor and body. Balanced with malts, and a bit of bitterness at finish. Solid all the way.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. Canning date is stamped on bottom as '073118'.
Mostly clear, deep gold colored body. One finger of frothy white head. Leaves behind an abundance of lacing. Displays an exuberance of rising bubbles through the body.
Aroma is earthy, grassy, and herbal.
Taste is melon, earthy, floral, with a little citrus.
Medium mouth feel. Good carbonation.
Age may play a part in the experience here, but the beer still expresses a true Mosaic profile.

canned on 7/31/18 and drinking on 1/15/19 so little over 5 months old from store (sad). A little stale in the hops, but otherwise it reminds me alot of Torpedo. Decent, and would like to revisit if fresh.

Look: Heady, with a nice clear amber color.
Smell: It might be a single hop, but it smells like a basket of fruits. Personally, I smell apple, slight citrus, and a lot of booze. Surprisingly no pine at all. A little bit sour and not as layered but what can you expect with only one hop.
Taste: Incredibly sweet, which masks almost all of the bitterness. Juicy apple is the dominant flavor rounded out by a hint of sweet yeast and toasty malt.
Feel: Sticky, but not as much as I expected for a double IPA. It's actually kind of bubbly but the bubbles are more of a velvety texture that lasts long than a crispy texture.
Overall: The single hop project is interest and this is by no means a bad beer. It's definitely not as refined as Sierra Nevada's year-round lineup but it's a fun drink, especially since it clocks in at 8%. The best thing to do is to invite a bunch of friends over and sample all the beers in the single hop lineup.

12oz can, PKGD 073118C. A tall off-white head leaves sticky lacing on the glass as it fades atop a copper colored ale. Floral and tropical Mosaic hop with a caramel malt nose. Flavors are hop forward and very floral with notes of orange blossom honey, mango, grapefruit, bready caramel malt, and familiar Sierra Nevada yeast. Overall, a very well balanced beer with nice flavors, but a bit too floral for me.

From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Gold, particles in suspension, good head.
Smell: Berries, citrus, dank, hits the usual mosaic notes.
Taste: Nice berry/citrus mix, sweet and delicious. Moderate to low bitterness.
Overall: Beer 4 from the hop pack. A nice double IPA, mosaic is probably my favorite new-school hop. This batch doesn't have overwhelming berry flavor like the best mosaic brews, but is a solid, tasty double IPA.
