Rated 7/8/2018. I remember getting this can. I thought it looked interesting. Seeing that it said Southern Hemisphere, I really wanted to try it. I was not disappointed. It pours a hazy orange color with a decent size head. Taste is tangy citrus with a mild bite. Really like this beer. 55 IBUs

Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler 9-19-18 for $1.49. Canned on 5-23-18; consumed on 1-7-19. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured a cloudy orange with a huge white head that has some great hang time.
Nose is fresh tropical fruit and citrus forward.
Taste is a nice combo of passion fruit and grapefruit over a near sessionable malt body. Finish is sharp and bitter leaving a residual bitter residue.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and refreshing.
Overall a nice brew that is worthy of a shot.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. "Southern Hemisphere IPA"
12 fl. oz. can, "PKGD 052318C 11:47"
$22.29/12-pk Southern Hemisphere mix @ Javies Beverage, Philadelphia, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: So is this just a bigger version of the session IPA and a smaller version of the double IPA? I guess we'll find out. I'm going to go with no based on the aroma, but I'll get back to that. It's poured a hazy orange body beneath a two-finger thick head of fluffy white foam. The head seems to be holding well and plenty of bubbles can be seen rising quickly within, bolstering it from below. The aroma is different than that of the session IPA for sure, which is mainly orange and gooseberry. This is more tropical fruity with passionfruit, some citrus that's mainly orange, and a subtle spiciness. It's a bit floral as well. The flavor brings in a light bit of apricot, and the maltiness is firm, grainy and lightly sweet. It's a nice balance between the malt and the hops, and that's then backed by a stiff bitterness that lingers gently in the finish along with some more of that tropical fruit. It's medium bodied and crisp but then it warms in the mouth to become smooth. It's clearly a well made and nicely balanced IPA; whether or not you particularly like the hops they've chosen is up to you to decide.

Lata. De decervecitas. En copa Teku. Jugando a Avernum 5. Mejor que sus hermanas session ipa y pilsner, menos metalica y mas aromatica aunque tampoco pa tirar cohetes.Mas alcoholica de lo que debiera para su abv

Pours an opaque orange with two fingers of dense, off-white/khaki foam. Head retention is fantastic. Aroma is deep tropical fruits - papaya, mango, and passionfruit - layered over spicy hops and caramel and bread malts. Flavor profile is an explosion of papaya, mango, orange, and passionfruit. There is a light dry, spicyness to it. Balance comes by way of caramel and bread malts. Mouth feel is velvety and bordering on chalky. It has a medium-thick consistency. Overall, good flavor that is well contained and focused, while remaining dynamic. One of the juicier Sierra Nevada options, and yet it retains their reputation for cleanly produced beers.

A: Pours a hazy copper color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves decent lacing
S: Citrus and earthy hops up front along with a bit of malt
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the citrus and earthy hop notes and then picks up some bready malt sweetness to balance the bitterness. Finishes with lingering citrus
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O: A solid IPA that showcases the southern hemisphere hops. Easy to drink too

12oz can. Poured out a somewhat cloudy, golden orange color with a good-sized head of off-white foam. It smelled of tropical fruit, caramel and light pine notes. Sweet grapefruit, pineapple and caramel with a nice bitter bite.

Attractive shade of hazy gold that does look like orange juice, good white cap and lacing.
Strong scent of citrus hops in a good way with clean, fresh, vibrant scents.
Taste is hop forward with touches of ripe fruit interwoven with the citrus hops. A pleasing combination of the two with citrus overriding but not dominating the fruit. I really don't find malt in the flavoring sense but it's present in a supporting role.
Delightful creamy medium full texture with balancing carbonation.
Quite interesting, very refreshing and complete in it's own right. Not really a food paring beer but one that would handily match pizza or wings. Something to buy for yourself and your friends.

This one pours thick and juicy, dense head and a blast of tropical fruit aromas. Apricot -gold, hazy to the point of opaqueness. A sip brings up a strong hop base with the fruity notes amply brought out with a solid carbonation. Long finish, not much on the malt, you taste hops here.

Clever can labels in this pack. Poured into a ~20 oz tulip. Slightly citrus aroma with a funkiness to it. Hazy golden color, with visible floaties settling toward the bottom. Tall, white, thick head and recedes slowly, leaving strings of lacing. Thick mouth feel. Initial taste has citrus bite, with a piney bitterness in the middle, finish, and aftertaste. The overall flavor profile is citrus and pine. The taste is in line with a low-bitterness west-coast IPA while the appearance suggests an eastern IPA. The appearance is OK, but the floaties are a bit off-putting. Not really outstanding, but good. Enjoyable; I'm glad I bought the pack.
