Had this at the source in Chico, February 2016 I believe. Same as whenever I had that Barrel Aged Spiced Bigfoot.
Decent price at only $6 for a 10oz pour. Pours black with a light tan head 1/4" deep. Not overly sludgy or thin, right in the proper wheelhouse. Aroma is bourbon, chocolate and mint, hey I like those things!
Taste seems more bitter than the commercial tugjob claim of 28 ibu would have one believe. The bourbon seems to not be as strong as a contributor when you think of other 10 month age jobs. Certainly mint is something to do, especially in the right proportion, and perhaps even though it is here in a relatively mild amount, it still provides enough distraction/cover for the bourbon to seem like it was aged for less than 10 months. Mild amount of vanilla behind all that other stuff. Roasted malt doesn't seem as roasty with all the other stuff going on. Alcohol presence is warming but not hot.
