From the growler (YESSS!) in a snifter via DEPS in Northern KY.
This fine barleywine pours a red tinged dark brown color with a
moderate head of off white foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin
wafting layer, and showcases some nice subtle lacing. Nose of rich
bourbon, dark brown sugars, nice vanilla, earthy malts, raisins, faint
cherry, and sweet oak with honey elements. Flavors....wow. Brown sugars,
oak, vanilla, bourbon, cherry, golden raisin, light herbal hops, slight cranberry,
and very nice warming booze. Excellent mouth feel; medium body, warming,
light carbonation, smooth as satin, lightly slick, and finishing medium dry.
Not sure what more one could say other than WOW. Best of the
Bigfoot brews I have had to date. Outlandish yet balanced and
highly drinkable with the perfect amount of balance to the
warming booze. Fantastic. PERIOD.
Cheers
