Probably not worth a repeat as a low etoh beverage. Refreshing enough with a nice hoppy finish atop malt. This is an ok beer for a hot summer day, marginally. Cloudy and plenty carbonated, but a feeble head. The nose seems to open up a bit, but deserves no raves.

Price: $1.42
From: Trader Joe’s in La Mesa, Calif.

Misc.: Canned on April 26, 2021 at 5:51 p.m. PT
Had Rachel pick me up this at Trader Joe’s with some other stuff. I’m always up to trying new Sierra Nevada beers. Online description read “Drop into summertime, stocked with a Session Hazy IPA brewed for long days of play. Go anywhere with hoppy notes of mango and passion fruit, backed by smooth malt flavor.” Mentioned hops were Chinook, Simcoe, Comet, Mosaic, Amarillo and Strisselspalt. Had never heard of Strisselspalt, which I looked up as “Pleasant continental-style aroma, herbal, floral, spicy, citrus and fruit.”
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see some bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Good spotty, watery lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled that familiar Chico yeast right away. Also tangerine, passion fruit, mango, dank pine, citrus zest, grapefruit and floral. Not sure any specific hop stands out but really a nice balance. Grew on me as it went down. Even better from the can with passion fruit and mango standing out. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste wasn’t as good as the nose but still pretty solid. Lots of flavor for such a small ABV beer. Got passion fruit, mango, tangerine, Skittles candy, grapefruit, citrus zest, pine, floral and just a touch of that good ‘ol Chico yeast. Looking at the mentioned hops, I could detect Mosaic, Amarillo and Simcoe. (Taste - 3.75)
Light body. Thin texture. Lively carbonation. Longer, clean finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Surprisingly a very good session IPA. I may have even undervalued it a tad. (Overall - 3.75)

Can poured into a Sierra Nevada Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pours lightly hazy golden straw with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Citrus zest, pine, light tropical and stone fruit, a bit grassy, crackery slightly biscuity malt, and just a touch of sweetness.
T: Bright, citrus zest, grapefruit, lemon, lime, and a tangerine, herbal pine, a bit grassy, underlying tropical and stone fruit, mango, apricot, passion fruit, and white peach, crackery biscuity malt, and just a touch of sweetness.
M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, moderately prickly carbonation.
O: Really solid as a bright crushable summer session IPA. Obviously not as intense as a full strength IPA, but for what it is I'm all about it.

This replaced Summerfest?!

Lightly hazy, thin head, trace of hops in the aroma. Taste is light of course. Hop flavors are present and there's even a modicum of malt as well. It's a well-constructed sessionable ale. Good mouthfeel of a more potent IPA.
We think it would be tastier if it was pulled from an ice filled bucket on a steamy hot afternoon and enjoyed while seated on a shaded porch.

Color is dull hazy yellow amber topped with sudsy off white head with good lace.
Apricot, sulfur, almost banana like yeast, light orange tickles the nose.
Salt water, orange / apricot, light sulfur in a good mango way. Some grassy spicy hops with very little bitterness.
Lots of fine refreshing carbonation with medium body that drinks lighter with a nice orange rind dry finish. Some slickness but not bothersome.
Wow, this soft minerally lightly citrus hazy is doing the right stuff. Well done!

Slightly sour, biscuit malt, a bit of citrus on the nose. Taste generally follows, with an orange peel and mango backed citrus body complimenting biscuit malt and floral notes. There’s also a lingering piney bitterness. Finish is dry. Quite sessionable, though I’d definitely take some of SN’s other beers (pale ale, anybody?) over this if I wanted an easy summer crusher.

12oz can. Hazy, pale orange with a loose head and spotty lacing. Orange squash (the English meaning, ie. diluted orange cordial) aroma. Taste follows the nose plus some tangerine. Light body with moderate carbonation and subtle bitterness. Not sure this qualifies as a NEIPA. Reckon it’s more a hazy, citrusy APA. Simple, refreshing and pretty much perfect on a lazy summer afternoon.

16 ounce serving on tap.
Frosted golden sunshine color with a sudsy white cap. Good retention and lacing.
Like it’s abv, it’s light across the board. Light fruit aromas, mango and citrus. Light cracker-like malt body with gentle hop nip.
It comes as advertised and was a spot hitter after walking off the beach.

A: slight haze; pale gold in color; 1 finger finely pored white head that receded to a skim cap; light lacing;
S: not especially aromatic; what's there is tangerine;
T: not a lot of flavor either; follows the nose from start to finish; mild bitterness at the end;
M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish;
O: easy drinking; better balance than many SIPAs; needs more aroma and flavor;

A - Pours a pale orange body, with just a short white head. Some definite lacing, but not extensive.
S - Pungent hit of citrus, bright pine resin present.
T - Opens with faint pine and more forward citrus, but then hops deliver one of the strongest grape notes I've had in a beer, something thoroughly unexpected but quite delicious. The result is a champagne-like experience with beer clothing.
M - Prickly carbonation, moderate weight, slightly dry finish.
O - This is an interesting NEIPA. It shows real creativity, exploring what can be delivered by the style when using a significantly different hop profile that yields a very different flavor. Solid, refreshing easy drinker.

Pours a lightly hazy pale straw color a nice fluffy off white head falls slow desent lace.
Aroma is light malt sweetness and fruity hop notes, not bad for a lower abv beer.
Taste is like the nose, light sweetness tropical fruits light body not really hazy tasting but probably hard to do with the lower abv.
Mouthfeel is light about medium level of carbonation.
Overall a lightly hazy IPA not sure if a low abv hazy is possible a good attempt at it though.

L: Cloudy light golden pour with big foamy white head. Lots of lacing.
S: Bread/malts and citrus hops.
T.F: Light... crackery grains and citrus. Picking up some grapefruit/rind and some light tropicals. Light bodied and well carbonated... low ABV. Citrus to finish.
O: A very solid hazy session IPA. Very crushable... and nice flavor for the low ABV. A rock solid summer/warm weather brew. Great for what it is.
