Had this one at the ACBF 2010 also. This poured out as a nice brownish orange color. The head was nice a big at first then it subsided a bit and managed to still leave a nice lacing on the glass. The smell of the beer gave off some nice wooden aromas and some sweet malts also. The taste of the beer had some slight vanilla flavors in there along with some creamy sweet malts. The mouthfeel was well carbonated and was very drinkable. Overall I think this brew was quite good.

Brown with orange/gold tones and a nice tan head.

Nose is all toffee/carmel and oak vanilla with tones of sweet sugared coffee-sugared toast.

Mouthfeel is rich, bold and creamy.

Flavors follow nose with great appealing carmel, toffee, sweet coffee and sweet burnt carmel and toast. Very assertive, rich and appealing. This has been the most appealing Sierra Nevada I've had to date.

Really nice and just reeks of quality. Perfectly balanced and perhaps a perfect flavor profile, at least to my taste.

Poured from the tap into a tasting glass.

The color is a dark brown with a finger of tan foamy head and some lacing.

The smell is caramel flavor with a hint of vanilla. Some oak flavor does come out and adds a slight aged feel.

The taste is a nice chocolate flavor that mixes well with the nice toffee flavor. There is a little burnt oak flavor in there as well and reminds me of old potatoes.

The feel of this beer is smooth and has a nice milky finish. It goes down well and is sweet in spots.

A: A dark brown/amber color with a very minimal khaki colored head.

S: A smooth and creamy vanilla note (along with some oak) to go along with the sweet caramel, brown sugar, chocolate and toffee.

T: A wonderful mix of chocolate and vanilla flavors going on here. The sweetness from the caramel and toffee really goes wonderfully with the light oakiness and the hints of dark stone fruits.

M: A really creamy and smooth, almost thick and chewy with a soft carbonation.

D: Sierra Nevada really doesn't get enough praise from us beer geeks. This is a really solid beer (like all of their others), and I would gladly take a glass of this again.

Description said this one is a blend of the Sierra Scotch Ale and Imperial Stout. (?)

Pours a dark brown color with a very faint white head.

Aromas are of vanilla, dark roasted malts, chocolate, booze, and oak.

Taste is similar to the nose. Starts out with a bittersweet cocoa flavor, settles into molasses, vanilla, and dark fruits. Finish is crisp with an alcohol warmth. There is also a definite barrel boozy oak note on the finish as well.

Mouthfeel is quite good, very full and thick with spot on carbonation.

Drinkability is excellent. This one is well blended and oak aged. Drinks well, I could have easily enjoyed another half pint, great stuff Sierra, this is a keeper.
