Super smooth for 11%. I appreciate the smoothness, was expecting a bitterness bomb. Superlative!

(review from 2018 when it was only a 9.6%er. Been having this for decades & it's still a great 3X ipa) Hopheads rejoice! Excellently well balanced, flavorful & smooth fooler of a 9.6%er with tons of hoppy taste and hardly any bitterness. Has gotten stronger over the years & maybe a skosch less tasty but still one of my year after year 3X ipa go-tos, unlike Waldos' which has fallen off enough after the Lagunitas buyout that in 2026 I may not bother to hunt it down at all. Oh well, good times, great tastebud memories.

Classic hopped up funk from Sierra !piney resin on the nose and the mouth feel . Gets super boozy as it sits . Classic version of a triple ipa at 11% . A style not often seen any longer . 2025 version

For 11% IPA it is extremely balanced and you don’t taste the alcohol whatsoever. It’s a slow sip . Be careful.

Clear amber color with a respectable and lasting off white head and some bits of nice lacing.
The aroma is mild but dank with citrus, pine and tropical fruits.
The taste is grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple and peach with hints of passion fruit, pine, fresh grass and some floral notes with a solid bready malt background, slightly sweet, a bit tart, moderate bitterness, nice balance.
The body is medium, good carbonation, well hidden ABV, smooth and dangerously drinkable.
Altogether, this is a big solid beer, lots of flavor, interesting and enjoyable, should go well with heartier fare, better as an after dinner sipper, very well done, excellent.

Amber color, medium off-white head. Aroma of pine, mango, caramel malt, and citrus. Floral, fruity taste with malted sweetness in the beginning, which is balanced by strong hoppy bitterness in the finish. Long bitter aftertaste. Fantastic balance.

Pours a clear amber color with a small white head on top. Strong smell of hops along with notes of citrus. Super juicy and light malt. Also has a hint of honey.

Special. 2025 batch is particularly potent. Finesse. Everlasting faint white head rim and cap. Superfine splotches and curtains of lace.

Deeply dank greenhouse, prominent strawberry, clementine, peach, touch of lime and passionfruit, huge pine and hay, rosemary, faint basil and oregano from the hop and grain interplay. Piney, green, crispy at turns, delicately sweet then again manages to clean up and finish beautifully dry with unending palate play.

A dramatic evolution from 2024. So crushable, smooth and quenching; alcohol completely hidden, drinks like an 8% brew while trucking in its 11%. Silky, full and easy to sip. Malt rich and deep but way WAY more balanced than previous years, further allowing huge hop expression and a massive, ornate, spectacular tropical lupulin finish. Mango and guava near the back. Tons more zippy pine. Delicate and refined red tropical fruit and herb and allium garden from front to back, all riding a beautiful, crushable, satiating, straightforward and effective malt structure. Try this!
