Picked up three 12.7 oz caged and corked bottles from the Mills River outpost on 8-20-21 for $39.49 for all three. No bottling date but would imagine it was in July 2021.
Beer poured black as night with a very nice tan head that has some good hang time.
Nose is very nice, toasted almonds are the first thing that hit you followed by a nice touch of vanilla on top of mildly roasted and chocolate malts.
Taste was awesome as well as this is dessert in a bottle. Toasted almonds, vanilla beans, and chocolate malts combine oh so nicely. Finishes nicely balanced with a light touch of sweetness. Wonder how this would go over a scoop of vanilla ice cream?
Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and ridiculously velvety smooth.
Overall an awesome beer - so glad i have one left! I shared the first bottle at a neighborhood tasting and to me it was the standout of the night!
