There was no barrel time for this decadent stout, brewed to a cozy 10.6% and layered up with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and toasted coconut. The aroma hits like fresh fudge brownies, and if you give it time, swirls of vanilla join the chocolate. The coconut is discreet, drawing out nutty character and enhancing the beer’s velvety mouthfeel. And the warmth of its ABV reinforces just how invigorating Sweet Forgiveness can be.

Picked up 2021 Alpha Hop Society Release #6 on 12-31-21 from Mills River: bottle #3488/3500.
Beer poured black with a nice tan head.
Nose is light roasted malts and chocolate forward.
Taste is a medium to large lightly roasted malt base that takes on the chocolate, vanilla, and coconut adjuncts nicely. Finishes with a good dose of hops but ends with a nice dessert touch of sweetness. Sips are warming.
Mouthfeel is medium to large bodied and very smooth.
Overall a tasty dessert beer before dinner!
