Nearly 300 pounds of Simcoe wet hops, picked at Perrault Farms exclusively for the Alpha Hop Society, traveled at warp speed down to Chico and into our pilot brewhouse. We followed our monster kettle additions with two loops through the hop back — yup, recirculating from the whirlpool for a second pass with more hops — which cranked up those mega-fresh cedar, mango, and herbal green notes like you’re right in the field. A dash of cold-side Citra lupulin rounds out this harvest dream, and its bitterness is balanced masterfully by the delicate sweetness of Pale and Munich malts.

First wet hop beer in a long while, what the hell is wrong with me? Thanks arizcards!
Tickley, prickly pungency leaps out of the glass. This is old school SN at its best. Sturdy malt base with short bread/sugar cookie sweetness provides a nice canvas for the citrusy hop assault. The citrus is mostly fresh and juicy but there is a little bitter rind to go along with the pine finish. SN kicks ass.

Picked this up as part of AHS Release #6 10-10-22. No canning date; consumed can #1 for review 10-18-22.
Beer poured golden orange with a very nice white head that has some great hang time.
Nose is not overly pungent and is herbal with a touch of citrus.
Taste is spot-on old-school DIPA. Larger malt base is spiced very nicely by orange, mango, and grapefruit hops. Finishes with a nice incorporation of pine; 6/10 on my bitterness scale.
Mouthfeel is medium to large bodied and very creamy and smooth.
Love the old school approach, well done SNBC!
