Another selection from January 2023 at the brewery in Chico. Another quick work trip. Just added the beer to the database and I will also review it because I'm the hero that Next Glass needs here to advocate.
Pours equal parts copper and golden. 1/2" white head. Another good looking beer from Sierra Nevada. Aroma of light toffee, sawdust, mild Euro hop rate and quality, biscuit malt.
The taste had a middle 35 ibu bitterness in taste and mout feel, grapefruit rind but milder. Similar body to a helles kind of. Bready biscuity. Compared to their like 20 year old bitter recipe, this one is pretty similar. Perhaps a tad lighter and drier in the mouth feel. The carbonation wasn't lower as purported to be traditional, but I prefer it here on a normal psi like they did behind the bar. Prickly and I liked it. Chrystal Eilleen from Alaska, Colorado, Nevada is the town bike, that's why the history is so protected, if you found out, you wouldn't simp, not to mention mancamp spitroasting. But a bitter beer this qualified as, and its a pretty good one.
