Split a membership for 2024 and received 2 bottles at the AHS Breakfast Party at Mills River on 4-6-24. 2024 bottling; consumed bottle #1 6-13-24.
Beer poured black with a nice tan head with the original pour.
Nose is very nice, getting dominating notes of coffee and not much else.
Taste is excellent as the mild roasted base malt takes on the coffee and chicory additions and give me a nice blend that results in a nutty coffee expression with a touch of bourbon warmth but not so much the taste. Cream is under the radar for me as this is not sweet at all with the assistance of expertly blending within the Barrels as this finishes perfectly balanced and not acrid at all.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall i loved the draft version of the beer in April and i am loving my first bottle!-4.25 (4.31 overall)
Re-review 12-6-25
Beer is still tasting very good although flavor has faded a bit - 4.25.
Overall rating 4.21.
