On tap at Churchkey. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a golden-amber with a thin white head, fading down to a collar. The nose has some red-wine character along with straw and mild earthiness. Touch of pepper. Flavor has some wine along with underlying light malt and faint earthiness. Bit of spice. Light-medium body with good carbonation. Better than the base beer.

On tap at burger. in Santa Cruz. Pours an unclear pumpkin orange with a lasting off-white head. Dried apricot and apple in the nose with some perfumey alcohol. Nondescript yeasty flavor; a little malty, a little bitter, a little winey. Not really identifiable as a saison, much closer to a tripel. Flabby and sorta sweet. SN can do better, I hope.
