super modern hoppy pils, really good, i wish sometimes that the cooler side of this brewery would get out into the world a bit more, they innovate a lot more than the general consumer realizes, a shame, because this stuff always seems to solidify in my mind just how great they are, even if that assertion needs very little continued validation. this is great stuff, loaded with new school hop products like krush hyperboost and a couple of cryo varietals, but also still packing spalter and magnum, so kind of the best of both worlds, and for how light and easy this drinks, its pretty darn hoppy but keeps its balance, some careful proportions in here, really cool beer, so modern and good, clean as heck in the lagering too, which is key. the pour is unassuming, looks like a pils, pretty clear, basic yellow tone, lots of bubbles and a full inch of white head on it. the aroma is pungent right away, some grassy freshness, sliced orange and grapefruit, near ripe strawberries and an almost fruit punch thing, verdant herbal character, soft white grape and even apricot notes here too, some light weedy dankness but this isnt over the top considering all the hops, and some fresh crackery pils malt and lager yeast still comes through all the hops, along with some crisping minerality, tidy stuff. the flavor is really hop pungent up front but retains its pils identity at its core, impressively. the hops are so cool here though, lemongrass and cooked pear and lychee and grapey sativa, still some almost noble spice to it at the end, lower bitterness than even seems possibly but snappy and dry from the professional lagering, so clean on the swallow. the hops are bright and fun, berries and lemons as it warms, summery to an extent, pineapple too, just fantastic. unique recipe, special result, this is so good!
