Acquired 2 - 375ml bottles as part of my half share in the 2024 Alpha Hop Society as part of the "Dessert" theme on 12-14-24. Ale brewed with lemons & blueberries, aged in gin barrels & brandy barrels. Reviewed bottle#1 3-11-25.
Beer poured a faded purple with a nice white head with the original pour.
Nose is very nice as the lemon and blueberry dominate with a hint of botanicals in the background.
Taste buds took about 4 ounces to acclimate. The large pale malt base acclimates nicely with the lemon and blueberry adjuncts. Gin botanicals then dominated for a number of sips until the palate acclimated. The lemon zest and gin cut thru the blueberry sweetness and in the end you have the zest zing after each sip.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and refreshing.
Overall, this was my least favorite at the party back in December but will hand it to the barrel team for their creativeness!

No change in the scoring.
Seems this has mellowed a bit with the gin botanicals and zest bitterness but still a pretty strong flavor experience. These are fun beers to try.
