Name is a little deceptive - not really that hoppy (I didn't read the description beyond the name when ordering). I was expecting a hit you in the face hop explosion but for me the yeast really dominates with the sweet fruit undertones also present. Hops are more of a balancing component. That being said, getting over the initial name confusion it is a decent beer - a little hard to define since I don't think it fits in any one category neatly. Nice deep orange amber color. Sweet citurs aroma and flavors, sweet banana esters. A bit dry, balanced bitterness, little aroma/flavor hops.
From the menu:
42 IBU's, Hop Bam is a collaboration with Kyle Hollingsworth of the the string cheese incident. Citrus hop profile is enhanced by the addition of plentiful Mandarin oranges, while a Belgian yeast adds layers of clove and banana note - peppercorns contribute a dash of spiciness.
