The beer pours an off-white head that dissipates quickly. The beer itself is a brown color with hints of purple in it.
The smell is pretty dang sweet. It has a bunch of plums and spice upfront with a bit of wood. The nice bourbon note follows it up in the finish.
The taste is good. It starts off fruity with plum and apple notes alongside an earthy and tea like hop bitterness that balances it out. The bourbon notes such vanilla and wood come out towards the end and din the finish.
The feel is decent. It has a medium heavy body with some carbonation. It has a smooth texture and a somewhat sticky finish.
Overall, a pretty good beer that works well in the cold weather. It certainly is pretty indulgent and the sweetness can be a bit overwhelming at times.

2/8/13 notes. Found this at the brewery. Brewery exclusive I am told.
Pours a murky brown ale with a nice size beige head. Light lacing…and then none.
The aroma has a big plum scent with maltiness included. Prunes, leather, pork and boozed-up dark fruit.
The taste is fruity with a big malt backbone. Dark fruit. Plums are again at the forefront here. Dry. Not much in the aftertaste department. Sort of a drawn out malty finish. Can’t taste a ton of booze but the presence is noted. Drinks way easier than the listed 10.2%.
Overall this is my second attempt at this and I do like it better the second time. The plums are becoming more pronounced and it is turning this into something special. I am rating this a little higher because I know there are better things to come out of this….if you are patient….and can find a bottle.

375ml bottle into Duvel Green tulip.
A: Pours deep brown with a thin, bubbly, light brown head faded to wispy film streaky lace.
S: Lightly boozy notes of plums, raisins, brown sugar and spice.
T: Follows the nose with dominant flavors of dark fruits including plums, red grapes, raisins, tobacco, leather, spicy yeast and a splash cherry juice. Chocolate and caramel finish.
M: Soft fluffy carbonation, medium-full body, clean mouth, faint hint of booze.
O: Really flavorful, complex and smooth dark Belgian. Will age nicely, great fruity profile.

Bottle from the brewery. Belgian inspired ale brewed with plums.
Pours a deep brown color with a very faint white head.
Aromas are quite nice. Dark stewed fruits, sugar, yeast, and some mixed spices on the nose.
Taste is quite sweet. Lots of caramel, dark fruits, and mixed spices. Finish is fairly boozy, with a nice touch of alcohol warmth.
Mouthfeel is very good. Lots of body, thick, and smooth.
Overall, a nice strong dark Belgian ale. Definitely must be a fan of sweet beers to enjoy this one. I wished I'd bought a couple more bottles, because I think this would benefit for some time in the cellar.
