I had this beer at the Reno Release party at the Sierra Taphouse. My good brewing buddy Carrie Compton was the host and one of the fellow brewers that put this beer together. Wow! I love it. In fact, I over indulged and had a wicked headache the next day, but when you are drinking a 7% ABV beer that is that sessionable, it's hard not to over-indulge.
Overall, this beer has a fantastic brown ale malt profile, but really hits a home run with the pungent barrage of hops that hit your pallate. A brown IPA for sure. The thing that makes this beer so great is that it has a broad spectrum of flavors between the malt an the hops and is not just a hop bomb. I wish this beer would make it's way into Sierra Nevada's lineup, cuz it's one of my favorites!

Beer Camp #90 - Brown ale brewed with Australian hops.
Pours a dark brown color with a nice white head.
Aromas are great. Nutty, earthy, with some resin and pine notes.
This is a tasty brown ale. Nice nuttiness up front, light caramel sweetness, and some brown sugar. Finish is quite hoppy, with notes of resin, pine, and a general earthiness.
Mouthfeel is full, with nice snappy carbonation.
Overall? Wow... this was an impressive beer. I like Tumbler, but this was excellent. Almost more like a "brown IPA" though. Bummer that it's highly unlikely that this will ever be brewed again...
