Scored this at the brewery. Weird appearance, beige and gold. Looked good otherwise, always have the carbonation and clarity dialed in.
Aroma was toasted caramel and some other stuff. Taste was toffee, nuts, orange rind, vanilla, cardamom. Smooth, lacking the usual hop bitterness from Sierra Nevada. Enjoyable, could see this as a good ground breaker for someone scared of darker or craft beers.

Scored this one in Chico at the headquarters. Comes out equal parts tan and dark gold, has the standard 1/2" head on it, average retention, the lacing was nicer than average.
Aroma was all about that malt. Can you hear Scorpion now talking about the toasty! aspect of it all? Ginger, vanilla, toffee.
Taste comes off like a session winter warmer. More of the same stuff in the aroma, and maybe some citrus rind. Unlike most Sierra beers, you aren't going to find hop flavor or bitterness in this one. Solid though.

On tap at the brewhouse/restaurant. Mild looking light tan and dark gold appearance, 1/2" head on it, average retention, above average lacing.
Aroma was almost entirely malt forward. Toasty! Vanilla, ginger somewhere running around.
Taste, this is like a sessionable brown/winter warmer. Nutty, toasty, minimal toffee intrusion, vanilla and more ginger. Citrus rind in there too. Earthy is a good descriptor for this beer, there is hardly any bitterness or hop quality to it, and not in a bad way either. Makes for an enjoyable beer. Sometimes you want a Bigfoot, Celebration or you just want to take it easy and sip on something like this come brisk weather.
One of the rare malt forward Sierra Nevada brews out there.
