Before I started to review this, I didn't know that the name refers to an actual berry - I thought it was just a name of a place or something. So I figured my nose was playing tricks on me when I picked up almost the same berry aroma I got from the raspberry wheat beer I had earlier; though this one was a bit different, a bit more tart, with notes of rhubarb and black currant, plus a faint mocha edge. Looking at it, you'd guess it's a pretty standard mild, dark red-mahogany with a satiny, well-retaining ivory-colored head. The taste is of juicy-as-hell raspberries and cherries, which I suppose must be what taeberries taste like - delicious. The berry sweetness is couched in a pillowy malt base of cocoa, marshmallows, and brown sugar. Really nice, with a dry and fruity finish. The body and carbonation are light, which works very well with the fruitiness. I still don't really know what taeberries are, but I wish I could drink beer made with it all the time!
