A 330ml clear glass bottle, unlabelled and featuring a red chilli floating around inside. No BB date but has a hand-written bottling date of 19/9 on the cap (Sept 2014). Given to me by my brother after he returned from NZ; he bought it at the brewery. The website mentions that this is their Golden Goose lager with a chilli added - allegedly increases in intensity over time.

A: Poured into a cervoise. Bottle conditioned. A rich golden-amber hue with faint haze and light carbonation. Virtually no head; what little there is dissipates almost immediately.

S: Aroma of fruity capsicums - reminiscent of freshly-cut bell peppers. Perhaps a touch of stewed leaves and faint grain but not much going on otherwise. Chilli is certainly the dominant note.

T: Tastes of searing chilli heat that incinerates the tastebuds in passing. Faint notes of fruity peppers, vague stewed leaves and a twinge of light malt. No bitterness to speak of. The flavour is 99% chilli and leaves a burning aftertaste that destroys the palate.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and very tingly - chilli heat attacks the tongue and distracts the senses. Light and relatively thin otherwise; insubstantial.

O: Meh - not the most enjoyable brew I've ever had but I guess it does what it sets out to do. Subpar looks, primarily due to the lack of head. The aroma and flavour are decidedly biased in favour of chilli peppers and not much else. So-so body. This beer is on a mission to kill your palate and if you drink it you will be rewarded with pain. Strictly for chilli lovers/masochists. Proceed with caution.
