Isabella’s sassy Belgian cousin here – she’s sweet, spicy, & refreshing. Brewed with Belgian Ale Yeast & a delicious blend of light malts. Bon jour, Nénette!

L: Two finger dense foamy head, hazy golden body.
S: Bright and sweet; citrus fruits, floral notes, honey, orange blossom, banana, coriander, cherry.
T: Sweet and citrusy and bright like the nose. Honey, lemongrass, orange blossom, tropical notes, Belgian yeast, a bit of coriander, slight bittering on the finish.
F: Creamy, smooth.
O: Bright, soft, pleasant. I dig the citrus, and not overly sweet.

Packaged on 1/24/23 - consumed on 3/21/23 - poured from a pint can into my Unibroue tulip.
Cloudy Naples yellow/gold body with two fingers of rocky ivory soft peaks, receding to a popped collar and lasting surface slick. Sticky, thin lacing. Decent retention.
Lovely phenolic laden, spicy/fruity nose - likely a commercially available Belgian yeast strain rather than something Kern developed?
Sweet, mellow, lightly malty/doughy palate entry. Medium-dry finish with lingering pear and green plum notes. Hints of clover honey. Mild earthy bitterness with a touch of peppercorn/coriander. Tangerine notes come out more as the ale warms, possibly from the yeast/alcohol. Well integrated.
Medium-light bodied, soft, with decent carbonation; lightly warming.
Excellent take on the style - could be a well executed clone of one of the better Belgian offerings.
