EPM is soft and real in a life that may not always feel that way. And even with the dumb name, it still slays. Like, one time I met this bro named Juniper. Yeah... But dude slayed. Homeboy knew how to chill. And that’s Electric Puppy Machine. Bad name, but it still does the damn thing.

Packaged on 3/9/23 - enjoyed on 5/5/23 - poured from a pint can into a snifter.
Impenetrable seal brown body with a fizzy active lion cap receding rapidly to a vague rouse-able collar. No real lacing; faint tears perhaps.
Fudge, vanilla, maple, faint smoke, and potent malt in the nose. A little fig and date as well. Low barrel notes.
Taste follows the nose but the flavors are expansive and open outward into an increasingly complex array until you reach the medium-dry, earthy, bittersweet finish. Cocoa, gentle bourbon, maple candy, brown sugar, and a whisper of molasses/licorice. Low earthy/minty bitterness from hops. Faint tartness as if from orange/cherry in the aftertaste.
Low yet active carbonation, medium-rich body, smooth rather than slick. ABV well concealed. No tar or tannins.
More than the sum of its parts - an excellent collaboration.

16 oz can into a snifter
Dark, sludgy beverage. A small, wispy head barely forms but lingers indefinitely.
The nose is molasses-forward, oaky as they come. Some pit-fruit/berry notes edge the bouquet.
Classic BBA stout profile, reminds me of the original Elijah Craig Eclipse. Huge molasses aspects, plenty of coffee and anise and oak to round things out. Relatively chewy complexion for the ABV, but alcohol is well masked.
Elegant, no-frills stout. Takes from the best of both brewery’s talent….kind of a blend of Class X and early Eclipse editions.

Appearance: Black with a modest sized dark beige head that slowly faded. A good-looking imperial Stout.
Smell: Moderate Whisky aromas, brown sugar aromas, and faint vanilla notes. nothing wrong here.
Taste: Prominent Bourbon/whiskey notes, roasted malts, brown sugar, some dark chocolate notes, mild vanilla and tannic oak notes. The beer starts off moderately sweet, but the roasted malts and tannic oak notes balance out the initial sweetness nicely. The bal-aging elements are integrated well in the flavor profile. The beer is listed at 10.5.% ABV, but the alcohol presence is mild.
Mouth-feel: On the heavier side of medium bodied with a modest level of carbonation. A good mouthfeel in this beer.
Overall: A good, easy drinking imperial Stout. I'm glad the unfortunate bad weather allowed me to get my hands on this one.
