Per the norm with Alandales’ brews, a rather nice frothy ivory head that would leave sheets o’ lace down the glass. A very unexpected orangy / golden yellow brew that lead the way into more surprises.

Aroma had subtle notes of citrus and malts. Yep, the quaff was an unanticipated jump finish of hoppy goodness (the beer menu did note it, but I didn’t believe it). I even had to ask if they served me the IPA by mistake – nope! Their take on a pilsner is a medium body, snappy lil’ hop brew. Almost gets into a APA range, I liked it but wonder how it would fly with most people expecting a “Bud” type beer.

Another beer to try again for comparison.

Note: I entered this as Czech – it sure wasn’t a standard macro type pilsner, with all the hops in there.
