Kvass “Gubernskiy” on the export label, in case anyone searches for that with no results like I did.
Dark russet brown color, poured into a large mug with very little foam, a momentary wisp of surface skim.
Aroma is raisins and malt syrup.
Tastes like lemon, raisin, and cardboard. Super bland and much less sweet than most industrial kvass examples. Citric acid tartness, mild note of stale toasted raisin bread, seltzer water. Thin with low carb, simple and quaffable.
Overall this one is pretty skippable unless you’re just trying as many of these as you can. In which case, there are worse ones out there.

First try at this style. Rich molasses smell as this pours like cola. Taste is like a malt liquor and extremely sweet with some carbonation. Very rich flavor. I would try another of this style but it is clearly an acquired taste. My Lithuanian friend says that many eastern Euros would not consider this beer.
