Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a conical pint glass; no production information evident.
A: Pours a hazy, orange amber color with almost explosive head formation, resulting in a two inch, foamy white to off-white head, impressive retention, and luxurious rings of Belgian lacing.
S: Aromas of caramel, honeysuckle, white pepper/spice, with white grape and chocolate notes.
T: Caramel malt, honeysuckle, and white wine grape flavors predominate. Perhaps a bit of a butteriness, suggestive of biacetyl. The bitterness is muted in the beginning, increasing as it warms, although not realized at the level of an American IPA.
M: Medium bodied with strong carbonation initially, which is not persistent throughout consumption.
O: Honestly, more reminiscent of an English Bitter, although lacking that level of subtlety or complexity. I actually have a hard time accepting this as belonging to the American IPA style. Drinkable, though, and would probably pair up fine with any carnivore oriented cuisine (as long as you do not have an issue with the butteriness).

Mild amber.

Whiffs of yeast, barley, and faint citrus.

Not so hoppy for an IPA. Moderately bitter, faintly earthy. Light mouth feel.

Pretty solid session IPA. Will be great for the coming spring.

Tastes like garden hose water, industrial and off-putting. Smells okay though.

Poured from a 12 ounce into a Willi Becher glass. Best before 25 April 2018.
3.5/3.5/3.25/4/3
A moderately vigorous pour results in an astounding half a glass of head with remarkable staying power. Minutes later, I'm still a handsbreadth from the liquid.
Smells sort of herbal with a touch of metallic citrus. Hard to gauge at first.
Tastes coppery, brackish, and earthy-bitter à la ESB. The bitterness grows as the head settles and the beer warms slightly. Solid, substantial mouthfeel.
Overall, pretty average, but not unpleasant. You're not missing anything.

12 oz. bottle poured into tulip
(Sept. 6, 2017 born-on date)

L: hazy orange-gold topped with almost a 1-inch head of creamy-looking beige foam; some sticking; keeps a full collar of offwhite foam

S: standard-issue mango-caramel with lots of malt sweetness, almost a malt-takeover DIPA aroma, some citrus in the background, mainly orange/candied orange

T: similar to nose with a slight grassy green note added, hops are still subdued by malt but there is a light earthiness to them that helps balance the sweetness; loads of mango-caramel

F: not weighty but still a nice ale heft to it, plenty of carbonation, easy to handle all around

O: at almost three months old, this beer is pretty solid; lots of malt flavor dominate, but there's just enough life left in the hops to balance some of the malt sweetness; I was gifted this bottle as part of a mixed 6-pack, so I wasn't looking for it on my own, but there's enough here to make me curious about a fresh 6-pack's potential

12oz bottle, tulip, no freshness information.

Pretty orange beer with a full frothy off-white head.

There's an apple crispness along with a citrus pith, pine needles, pear, and caramel malt.

Spicy hop bite up front with a sweet middle and a carbonation biting finish. There's a bit of resinous piney hop flavor, but the sweet caramel malt is flaccid. The bitterness is low and the finish clean.

Wicked biting carbonation and a thin body make for a pleasant mouthfeel.

I've deducted from the overall score for the lack of freshness information; it's especially important on IPAs. Wicked Ram is ok, but doesn't really come together. It lacks the hoppiness of an American IPA, but has too much caramel malt.

a) Nothing clear about this murky, muddy dark amber body with a lacing head and spotty lace.
s) Low tide, medicine cabinet. Old fruit and mown grass - perhaps on compost pile, slight salt and decay.
t) Follows aroma. Up front moderate bready and caramel malts soaked in a soupy mix of fruit salad sweetness. fall orchard, fallen wet leaves, pine and landing in lingering bitterness.
f) Medium bodied. Not that fresh, but a good bitter dryness in the finish.
o) the over ripe, moldy smell had me checking did I pour into a clean snifter.

Pours a very light or pale orange with a tan head that had pretty decent retention as well as superior lace.
The Aroma is of citrus hops, astringent hops and some distant bread.
Taste: I get some bread malts up front but the citrus hops are most prominent.
Bitter bite with a dry finish.

Taste: crisp, herbal gentle piney notes to hop. Fresh floral garden earthy and bread like nose. Amber/gold, clear, big foamy head with nice ring of lace on glass. Medium to med lite body. Very drinkable, much like the English version of an IPA. 55 IBUs

It pours a rich caramel color with a while head that leaves slowly. The smell is a mild hop aroma but more malty to me. The taste is heavy on the malty side with a light bite from the hops. Overall a above average drink but not what I think of as a ipa.
