On Tap at the Brewery. Presented as a "Session Rye IPA" which upon talking to the brewer is at this point a "One-Off"
Appearance- Beautiful amber color with about a half finger white head with decent lacing.
Smell- Very bready in initial scent. The Rye is very apparent, yet not over the top; decent amount of dankness from the hop strain.
Taste- Now that's what I call a great Session IPA. Taste is exactly as I imagined from the scent. Extremely dank tasting, Perfect amount of Breadyness. Sort of a Founders All Day meets Jewish Deli kind of taste. Very clean finish. Would have assumed it were leaning on the edge of being a DIPA if not told otherwise.
Mouthfeel- Somewhat creamy in texture, medium body, dry finish.
This is Exactly what a Session IPA should strive to be. Shame that it's only a one-off. Hopefully they get enough push to make it either a rotating brew, or better yet, a year round.
