Thanks very much to abru17 for the opportunity to try this splendid ale. Decanted from a corked and caged 750ml brown bottle.
A - A lightly hazed pink liquid w/ an appearance like strawberry juice w/ a full foamy head (microfoam). Some suspended particles of yeast appear light in color against the lambic.
S - Nice grainy notes w/ a light funky cheesy yeastiness w/ a slightly sweet berry hint in the finish.
M - A full swell of effervessence w/ a nutty and light spice note and gentle acidity and mild fruity sweetness.
T - A very champagne-like fullness w/ carbonation pushing the light sweetness of the grain w/ a seed-like raspberry flavor. The funky farmhouse framboise taste is subtle and refreshing w/ the kind of restrained raspberry notes which do not compete w/ the spice and gentle brett flavors.. The acidity seems balanced and has a subtle citric tinge w/ light sourness.
D - A fine lambic w/ mellow juice and a faint sour aspect makes for a subtle and smooth flavored lambic. I prefer this to the overly sweet lambics made by some Belgian brewers. A very champagne like beer w/ berry notes that are like fresh picked raspberries. I found this to be delightful and one to savor for many moments.
