Pours a really deep oily looking black. With an deep brown chocolate milk like thick frothy head.
Aroma on this is huge and very impressive. Bakers chocolate, dark chocolate, brown sugar, coffee, molasses and big roasted notes. This really is quite an amazing smelling stout.
Taste is even more impressive - really rich, chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, some raisins, roasted coffee, almost no alcohol in the taste and for a 15 percent beer to do that is very nice.
Mouthfeel is super smooth, nice slick oily feel with a ton of body. Superb.
I find the drink ability high for this one, it is 15 percent but in no way is that noticeable. For the style and what they are going after, this beer blows any other gigantic imperial stout out of the water. Much better then black tuesday.
Great job with this beer Defiant, now get this out to the masses.
