Growler filled at the brewery in Pearl River, for $7.50. Nice to get some reasonably priced beer around these parts!
Pours the expected near black, minimal darker tan head, about 1/2 a collar, and some fine and light lace bands.
Minimal dusty dark malts in the nose.
Moderate roasty notes, then a chocolate layer, chalky, drying hops late. On the lighter side mouthfeel wise.
Pleasant stout, easy drinking, not out standing but certaintly worth a try. More decent beer from Defiant
