Pours a small fizzy head with low retention, dark color semi clear chestnut color, very dark for a Berliner
Nose brings plenty of sour funk like, creamy lacto sourness and some other bacteria possibly, some darker malts a bit toasted sweet malt, a bit of wine notes, buttery oak and vanilla so this must be barrel aged, or could be the lacto creamy notes
Taste brings more tart funk, fair sourness but not a ton, lacto bacteria souring with more of the creamy lacto yogurt character, some toasted sweet darker reddish malt characters, more buttery characters possibly oak or possibly the lacto creamy, some fruity notes as well, almost sour cherry or sour grape, a bit of wine, mild flemmy acidic finish
Mouth is med to lighter bod and a bit thin, low to almost no carb, bright acidity
Overall pretty nice, hard to call it a Berliner Weisse, more like a lighter Oude Bruin or something. A tasty beer, but out of style.
