2017 vintage
Pours with no head, mostly clear ruby to amber color, a bit of sediment, light legs
Nose sweet malt, caramel, sticky toffee and a little nutty, toasted bread crust, a bit of citrus, orange cake with vanilla icing, a little waxy papery oxidation, bready notes
Taste brings more sweet mild syrupy malt, caramel, nutty sticky toffee with fair syrupy sweetness, candy sugar, some dried fruits with candied date fig and little fruity cake with more icing, light waxy papery oxidation again, fair bitter spicy hops, hint of perfumey smooth alcohol, drier finish with a bit more alcohol
Mouth is med to fuller bod, low carb, light warming smooth alcohol
Overall a nice aged barleywine, enjoyable, would like to find it again
