Pours a clear, very bright golden color with no head at all.
The scent is of sour fruits and sugar.
The taste is also of sour citrus fruits, candied sugar, also a little watery.
Light body, very light and thin, low carbonation.
The flavor in this beer was ok, but otherwise I wouldn't be interested in this again. A bit too thin.

Served on-tap at the Capital City Invitational.
A: The saison is a dark brown-gold color, a dunkelweizen is a decent comparison. Decent head that lingered through several pours.
S: The aroma is anise. Not unadulterated Troegs Scratch 10 anise, but definitely strong with licorice.
T: Mmmm, anise. A spice that truly shines in beer (and sambuca), the anise is strong with black licorice. The body of the saison has candi sugars to support the spice. This is a good beer from Abbey Wright, seems like a repetitive comment from me.
M: The anise is the beer, so if you don't like the flavor won't work for you.
D: The ale is strong but approachable, full of flavor without the full bit of too much star anise.
