From notes drunkenly scrawled on the edges of a coaster 6 days ago:
The label calls this "Phat Abbot," but this is *not* the same as their draft beer of the same name. Where that's a bubblegummy, plastic, sweet, heavy version of a tripel, this literally takes the exact opposite road.
White wine golden color with an enormous frothy white head. Served in small, Italian-ish, sturdy wine glasses. Sprtizy tonic water and lemon in the aroma with a multitude of mild cooking spices. Drier and yeastier than the Phat Abbot, though this still has a sweet, alcoholic start to it. An herbal, plant bitterness really cleans up.
Not a bad effort at all. Reminds me of Tripel Karmeliet in its heavy, refreshing effervescence.
