A robust and complex oatmeal stout perfect for an evening by the open fire. Smooth and full bodied, it features notes of sweet coffee, bittersweet chocolate and toasted grains.

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can and pouring into a snifter. NO date stamp on the can or label.
The beer pours a dark cola brown with only a little light passing through on edges of the glass. A minimal beige fairly creamy head foams up. This foam fades to a thin edge layer and some wispy islands after the pour.
Aroma is dark chocolate and some roasted malts, bordering on char. No hint of any hop character at this point.
First sip reveals a medium body and pretty soft and smooth texture. There is very mild and fine carbonation that gently rolls across my palate.
Flavor is what I expect after the nose advertisements. I get some roasted malts and dark chocolate, a little burnt toast note buried too. Never any hop character and the ABV is totally hidden on this smooth drinker. My glass is empty before I even finished this review.
Quite a tasty oatmeal stout, pretty robust flavor for a mid ABV beer. Nice one!

For the ABV, this is a very good stout- more than just smoothness, the feel is lush and viscous, which accentuates the depth of flavors involved.
The malt brings the normal coffee and chocolate flavors with some subtle smoky flavors and molasses, which really makes it interesting, and quite tasty.
I will definitely be buying this one again.

Pour has nice head which dissipates to a consistent mm, lacing making it's way around glass with every sip. Smell of deep roasted malt and oats, brisket burnt ends, and a hint of anise. Mouth feel is wonderful. Feels heavier than ABV suggests yet pillow soft, leaving a solid mark on tounge until next sip. Can a bowl of oats and chocolate be bad? Tatse is charred wood, ending with hops. maybe belgian yeast? Overall, a high quality stout worthy of a try, and another, and another.
