Clear amber red color. Little head and decent retention.
Smell is of toasted malts. Grape and fruity undertones lie beneath. I detect a small amount of apple.
Taste is dry. Some toasted malts reign throughout, but lack any biscuitiness. A red ale not to be confused with an amber for sure. Hop bitterness is mild. Fruity undertones, I pick up grape and apple most of all. I also get a raspberry undertone.
Mouthfeel is a little dry and could use more fullness.
Overall, not a bad beer at all. I admit I was expecting less as the beer is named after the Texas Tech mascot. I figured it would be a beer for the masses, but it suits me just fine.
