With Stone Vengeful Spirit we employ a bit of tropical mythology to pay homage to our ever present gargoyle. Since 1996 he’s had our backs, and yours, by representing an aggressive intolerance for commoditized beer. He constantly inspires us to forge ahead with resolve–even with the omnipresent forces of forceful evil. Vengeful spirits can be awesome when they’re on your side.

almost too much tropical fruit flavor & citrus making it a little too sweet for my pallet. Nice malt body, which is almost perfect. Really good beer, not excellent though. 57 IBUs Rated 1-10-2020

APPEARANCE: Clean amber with a fair head of white suds. Little lace.
NOSE: Big tropical fruit! Pineapple, mango, orange.
TASTE: Body here is heavy and rich with big notes of fruited hops and a nicely bitter whiplash at finish. Nice that it begins “juicy” and finishes like a classic imperial IPA. A tough one! Enjoyable.

S - tropical fruits with a touch of bread
T - big juicy tropical fruits (pineapple, mango), pine, bready backbone, touch of pepper
M - creamy medium/full body; smooth and refreshing
O - very nice; Pick one up if you're looking for an IPA on the fruity side.

From a 12 oz. bottle dated 04/15/21. Sampled June 5, 2022 so this over a year old. My thoughts will be tainted.
The pour is a cloudy golden color with a lingering off-white head.
In the aroma I pick up fruity sensations such as pineapple, apple, pear, and cardboard malts. It might have been more vibrant many months ago. This seems stale.
Medium mouthfeel.
The taste is sweet and also stale but I can tell that fruity or citrus hop character were prominent at some time in the past. I might have given it a high rating had I had it a long time ago.

1/5/22 Bottle with brew date of 7/7/22. Six months old. Not sure if this has effected any flavors/smell ....
Bready and lemon nose. Not as "tropical" as we expected. Bright on tongue. Starts off hoppy which continues dry throughout the taste. Flavors of malt and canned mandarin orange (not a good thing) with slight lemon zest. A decent, but not a noteworthy IPA.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy (~30% opaque) medium orange color with a large white head. SRM of 12. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of pineapple and mango. Smooth and juicy. (4.25)
Flavor: Moderate flavors of creamy pineapple, mango, with a sharp pithy bitterness on the end. Still, drinks smooth and creamy. (4.00)
Feel: Medium bodied with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Impressively smooth. (4.50)
Compared to Three Floyd's Foggy Geezer 12/7/21: Pours a slightly hazier color. Stronger aromas. More pineapple and mango. Less orange and peach creamsicle.
Overall: Impressive juicy and creamy IPA here. Stone did this one right. Lots of pineapple, mango, creamsicle. An incredible body. A better IPA than expected here. Give Stone credit on this one. (Final Rating: 4.18)

A mediocre ipa in my opinion. Its not bad but not my preference. Its a lot more fruity than others. The 7.3 apv is quite nice as well

finally getting my paws around the IPA which my favorite IPA (so far) is based; mixed emotions
pours a slightly hazy gold body with an off-white head that has low retention and leaves trace amounts of lacing as it settles
aroma is of very floral shades of pineapple and orange with slight grass and earthy bittersweet hop
taste is juicy version of the floral tropical fruit notes and a punchy offering of grain and earthy evergreen hop bitterness
mouthfeel is mid-level in carbonation and body, running smooth, if not a little oily, with occasional carbo prickles and grainy feeling towards the end. the finish is semi-dry with an earthy, near-minty hop aftertaste
overall:
it's alright. it's definitely better as an imperial offering, with the mouthfeel being my primary complaint. it just isn't very balanced. it's not abrasive, but the elements miss a uniting feature, and the brew suffers from that void. maybe I messed up having the augmented version first, or maybe I just know that this mission statement has been delivered more effectively elsewhere..

From a bottle brewed 6/8/21. Clear orange color with a quarter inch of white head. Tropical fruit smell. Medium body. Guava and pineapple flavors over an earthy malt base. Medium bitterness on the finish. A nice fruity IPA.

Pours a straw color with just under a finger of head. The nose has an earthy essence along with notes of overripened fruit. The flavor has notes of bitter citrus comingled with a hint of woodiness.
