Thanks, Gregg!
Received this out of the blue from Gregg, who got it from a friend. Really knew nothing about the beer going in except that there is apparently more than one Pluh IPA. Should be interesting.
Poured a gold, semi-clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Not bubbles underneath from what I could tell. Excellent uneven lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Initial smell had me thinking Galaxy, and other Southern Hemisphere hops. Dank, tropical, sweet, compost, vegetables, leafy grass and herbal. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste followed the nose. Still got Galaxy and other Southern Hemisphere hops. Also dank, vegetable, compost, herbal, leafy grass, dry white grape, hints of Hallertau Blanc, sweet sugary citrus and stone fruit. (NOTE: Later found out the hops were Mosaic, El Dorado and Delta.). Jesus. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.50)
This was a very good IPA. Definitely with the Southern Hemisphere hops. Will be interested to see if I was close on this one hop wise. (Overall - 3.75)
