1 quart/1 pint/2.7 ounce (1500 ml) corked & caged bottle, thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! According to Stone's website it was released in September 2018 so it has some age to it. Served in a snifter (as recommended on the label), the beer pours a murky brownish/copper color with about an inch or so tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like raisin, caramel, dark bread, dark fruit and a bit of smokiness. For the most part the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some toasted malt, dried fruit and grassy hop flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit coating and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought it was a good overall brew and seems to have aged well, although it might have been better fresher. Worth trying if you get a chance!

As advertised; an imperial (9.9%) Doppelbock. This is a solid beer with no funky additives or hyped up adjuncts. Just good, old fashioned German style beer with a slightly higher ABV. Its malty wth caramel tones, a subtle sweetness and a barely noticeable backend bitterness/smokiness that helps round it out. Good stuff.
