First release: November 2010

Lukcy Basartd Ale was first released in November 2010 in celebration of the (lucky) 13th anniversary of Arrogant Bastard Ale. This powerfully complex beer is an amalgamation of three Bastards—Arrogant Bastard Ale, Double Bastard Ale and OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale—unceremoniously thrown together and then dry-hopped to excess. Those Worthy souls who possess the nerve to try it will be rewarded with a delicious assault on their taste buds.

Purchased from Stone’s taproom in Oceanside, CA - 16 ounce can. This version 9.6% ABV.
Pours a relatively clear dark amber with crimson highlights, finger of khaki head - laces nicely.
Nose is of caramel, molasses, and dark fruit - hints of earthiness with evident piney, resinous hops.
Sweet burnt caramel on the palate, again dark fruits and a big whack of sticky resinous, piney hops with a decent earthy bitterness.
Full mouthfeel with moderate carbonation; sticky sweet and a lasting, lingering bitterness.

Poured from a 16oz can into a New Glarus snifter. Pours a light brown to dark amber with ruby red edges in the light and a finger of khaki colored foam head. Fruity and hoppy on the nose with a touch of malt sweetness. Tastes follows. This is so damn good. So drinkable at almost 10%. The can I received (so kindly from @Restiance88) says best by 2/28/25 but this is drinking superbly right now. Borderline barleywine; borderline TIPA. All around amazing beer. Loved every drop of it.

Clear garnet with a thick light khaki head, excellent retentions, bands of lace with spots between.
Grapefruit, pine, caramel, dank, and oak aromas
Caramel, raisin, grapefruit, pine, slight coconut, oak flavor.
Big body but not sticky or fluffy, appropriate carbonation.
There should be more beers like this.

Draft at BitterCreek. Pours out a nice rich mahogany color with a small beige head. Aroma started off with some dark pit fruit, some tangy citrus, caramelly malts. Taste followed with more of the same, and a bit of the ABV and hops kicking in at the finish. Pretty accessible and tasty too.

Taken randomly from my NC. haul.

Deep amber with a slightly tan, persistent head that leaves a good bit of lace/rings.

Dominant caramel on the nose.

Caramel dominates the flavor too along with a quite massive hop smash and a touch of bitterness on the back end.

Medium full mouthfeel with sublime carbonation. Overall a highly enjoyable Strong Ale!
