Bought at Stone Brewing in Escondido, CA. Can't remember the exact price, but probably somewhere between $15-20. Bottled 06/23/2017, consumed 07/27/2025. Left out about 15 mins before opening.
A&S: Still has some fizzy tan head even after all the aging. You can tell the aging really mellowed the smell. No real alcohol present, but I get dark chocolate, caramel, pastasheo (probably the pecans), and some dark coffee.
T&M: Apart from the usual suspects like chocolate and coffee, taste includes some maple syrup sweetness. I am also getting rye spice towards the finish. Very good balance between sweet and bitter. Didn't get bourbon, but that might have faded. Alchocol is still present after all this time, but it's not overwhelming. Very smooth, not super thick, but still full-bodied. Surprisingly drinkable, especially on a summer day.
Overall: For sure one of the oldest cellared beers I have had. I bought this one at Stone in Escondido, CA back in 2022 or 2023. I am sure Stone was properly cellaring it before, however, my cellar is probably a little warmer than 55 typically. Turned out great! Aged better than some higher ABV beers I have had after shorter periods of aging.

Pitch black. Medium-sized, beige head. Roasted malt, chocolate, maple syrup, oak, and nuts in the aroma. Great balance of malt and roasted bitterness. Semi-dry, warming finish.

Copenhagen 10/4 2024. 35,5 cl bottle from Meny, Nordens Plads, Frb. F. What looks like a clip from a Superhero comic book with Stone’s little Devil exterminating Zombies.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small light beige head. Settles ss thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass.no lacing to speak of.
Aroma is intense with a sweet, roasted and dark odor mingling with sharp licorice and dark alcohol. Dark roasted malts, brown sugar and caramel. Bitter dark chocolate and licorice. Bourbon.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, soft, viscous, fat, rather flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry and boozy.
Potent pleasure.

Strong stout, subjectively a hint of oyster-like gaminess. Thoroughly enjoyed the bourbon and nuttiness taste profile mix

Its funny...this beer is literally everything it says it is. You taste it and its like "oh thats barrel aged, but not that strong." Mmhm, yep. "There's some nuttiness to it as well." Mmhm, yep. "Also, there's a really nice dark bread quality that lingers on the back end." Well, ya don't say. Its just a really nice change of pace, where you can wrap your head around every aspect of what is actually involved in the stout. Well done. Incredibly balanced.

L- Superficially black, but ultra dark ruby-red when held to light. 3mm pale tan head.
S- Rich, slightly smoky.
T- Deeply roasty, then after about 3 seconds liquor barrel comes zooming in. Back to dark roast in the finish.
F- It's pungent but not over-rich. NOR is it at risk of veering into sweetness. This is a major plus for such a beer. Liquor note is prominent.
O- It's hefty but nicely done. Flavour notes (beyond the liquor) are subtle; nicely done.
Bought from Trembling Madness, York 330ml bottle BB: 21/06/24

This w00tstout creation is Farking great! I grab it whenever I see it. Sometimes at the 'Stone Brewing' in Escondido location, as I make it out often during my annual West Coast beer pilgrimages. It is sweet as hell (not cloying) so I don't even know how this one works for me. But it does. Pecans and Wheat are involved, but I guess that I just love a dark, burnt, toasted and roasted RIS. I cellar the stuff and don't drink it much after purchase. I keep many bottles going back five or more years now. I like drinking it warm. They are great! My wife is a red wine drinker and just loves this beer too. It must be the sweetness.

Grabbed bottle at Thirsty Pug.
Typical dense black appearance with hints of ruby red and dark mahogany to light.
Rich fruity malty nose; winey dark fruit hints of nuts.
Taste mirrors but has an unpleasant bitter aftertaste.
Feel is a nice modest smoothness, but alcohol intrudes and adds a burn.
Overall, ok but not anything I’d try again.
