A very bitter ale, which at the time I didn't like, BUT looking back it very well maybe one of my favorite. It was the only one I remember from the flight.

Poured on tap in a shaker pint, the beer is a dark, ruby amber color with a clingy, filmy, white surface coat of head. Nose of rich caramel anf toffee, with subtle bitter chocolate notes, and roasted highlights. Flavors are heavily roasted and rich, with a solid blast of chocolate and caramel blending nicely together. Woody and roasted highlifhts, with a tail end hops bitterness. Smooth and robust in mouth, with a bittersweet aftertaste balanced by the emerging hops presence. Smooth, slick, slightly dry finsh. Solid brew.

Had the chance to try the full lineup from these great brewers at the Brewgrass festival this evening. This was the first one up on my tour of the wares.
Poured out a very nice copper amber color as one might expect that it would. Very nice clarity hear with a rich carbonation profile and a nice small head of white that reached up maybe a half an inch over the top.
Small grain mix in the aroma, with a slightly hoppy presence as well. Almost a tart fruit component to it as there was defintly something else there for sure. This carried over well into the flavor, started with a nice little rush of pine hops that was quickly contained and rolled back with some light biscuit like malts that provided a good dose of balance. The finish though was where it was at. Rich, with a sour and bittle finish that really took me off guard. Smooth, medium bodied ale with a great carbonation profile was a very easy drinker for sure.
Overall this was a very solid beer. I was quite impressed with this and it led me to try the rest of the lineup which impressed me equally as well. Solid brewery and a solid beer.
