The color is a clear red-orange. The head is firm and fluffy, about a finger in depth and sustains itself fairly well, leaving light lacing behind.
The aroma is a sturdy mix of toasty grains, caramel and fruits sweetness, malts and light hops bitterness.
The backbone of this one is the malts, with the hops showing up underneath for a steady balance and a nice flavor. There is a touch of diacetyl. Notes of toasted grains and subtle hints of fruits round out the flavor. The finish seems to incorporate all of the flavors as it lingers.
The carbonation is low, making this one somewhat smoother but still but just a bit of a crisp feel. There's not quite as much to it as could be and the body is on the lighter side of medium.
This is a fair interpretation of the style and almost on par with Fuller's.
