50cl bottle poured into Paulaner Seidel
BBE 24 May 2011
A- 3 finger creamy white head sits atop an amber body with excellent clarity. Head retention is excellent eventually reducing to a thin 1/2 finger layer with good lacing.
S- Biscuity and toffee malt sweetness. No hop aroma.
T- Rich maltiness but not overpowering. Lots of biscuity malt with some caramel/tofee sweetness. Touch of toasted malt sweetness in the finish. No suggestion of alcohol strength, very smooth.
M- Medium/low carbonation,full body, lager clean.
D- Cracking bock. Looks the part, not completely overpoweringly malty. Has the richness and presence of malt but just enough and no more. Lager clean with a dangerously smooth finish and mouthfeel

Short lived, fizzy, off-white head sits above a glowing deep amber colored beer. Malty aroma with hints of caramel, tea, and flowers. The malt carries over into the flavor coming off as dark bread and caramel. There is an interesting underlying flavor that is hard to pin down. It definitely has a candied aspect to hit, and possibly bubble gum. It add a nice twist to the flavor. In the end the flavor fades away with a splash of alcohol. The mouthfeel feel if full and watery at the same time. I'm not a big Bock fan, but this one is nice.
