417 Lager is bright golden to straw colored and is brewed with Pilsner malt, flaked maize, Hallertau hops and Augustiner lager yeast. At first sip, the nose is slight with some malt and noble hop aromas. The body of this American-style lager is light with mild malt flavor and a touch of sweetness from the corn. 417 Lager then finishes clean and crisp with a modest hop kiss.

Tried this on tap during lunch at the SBC in Springfield. It was absolutely fantastic! The best tasting beer I've had in a long time.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of pillowy foam. It left minimal lacing on the glass. It smelled of corn, caramel, grains and floral notes. Sweet caramel taste with hints of corn and a touch of bitterness.

Picked this up at a Gas Station in Missouri not too long ago when I was out that way, as this both had a nice label (I collect them) and a high rating on here. Indeed, this was a great take on an American Lager since it was crisp, filling, and easy to drink without being weak in any aspect. Of course, it was tough to ensure that one can would make it all the way back here to home!
Of course, this had a bright and clear golden hue to it with plenty of thick and wavy foam topping it off. Loads of sudsy lacing was left behind although there really weren't any rings discernible. Lots of malt and hops in the nose along with some grass, grain, and yeast as the taste was equally varied and bright. A honey slickness stuck around on the palate along with the sweetness from the corn, as the latter lingered into the aftertaste and beyond. A nice carbonation kept things lively as there wasn't any sediment to be seen in the liquid.
I mention that since this had a canning date of 4/27 of last year on the label and of course, it would have been nice to get a newer iteration for reviewing on here. Regardless, this was an ideal session beer that was perfect for any time of the year and for something equally heavy to eat with it. This was quite enjoyable and a good first impression from Springfield!

Poured from a can. Golden in color with a small white head. Smells of bread and fruit. Malty, crisp and clean with flavors of bread, malt, with a touch of honey. Very good!
