Nicely hoppy, not too bitter, crisp and clean, this is a good start to the series but I liked some of the subsequent attempts more. I wish they'd keep doing this.

On tap at Hops and Pie. Yellow-orange color with a soapy white head. Aroma is hops, sort of floral. Flavor was pretty bitter and sort of soapy. Glad I didn't buy a bottle.

22oz bomber received in a trade poured into a tulip glass. a clean but cloudy straw color with large bubbles on the head.Nose has tons of citrus notes like lemon and orange peel with hints of grapefruit. Taste is similar with good balance sweet malt ready flavor finishing with pine and resin. med body good carbonation tangy and crisp feel. solid IPA nice use of the chinook hop.

Cloudy, golden body; thick, dense, rocky white head. Pine and caramel aroma. Fruity and bitter flavor; slight caramel malt taste; oranges. Heavy body; coarse and fizzy (in a nice way); juicy; wet but with a dry finish.
This is a very nice find out in Colorado and is a pretty damn fine IPA. Balanced flavors and aroma with a mouthwatering feel, here's hoping that Hoppin' Frog will make this part of their regular rotation. Per HF's website, they used Chinook hops with this teeny, tiny test batch...

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours lightly hazy bright orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice IPA. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
